I wasn’t in love with the pictures of what I wore on Sunday but I decided to post them anyway because I really like the outfit itself. It is really frustrating that my pictures always come out dark unless they are taken outside. I love my little Canon Camera but it really only excels at photos with natural lighting.
I bought this skirt relatively recently and I am in love with the floral print. I love the different colors in it. Plus I think it will transition nicely to a fall piece with the addition of tights.

P.S. I don’t know if you can tell in these pictures but I am actually wearing make-up which is a super rare occurrence – haha.
I discovered a new hairstyle on Saturday. This is a big deal for me because I really struggle to find hairstyles that actually work with my thick and curly hair. I know that pigtails look a little bit juvenile (and I would be lying if I said that I wasn’t already handed children’s menus at restaurants), but I put my hair this way out of desperation. You see me wearing my hair down in the summer feels like wearing a thick wool scarf around my neck in the summer. Now one would probably say that the logical solution would to be putting my hair up in a braid, bun or ponytail. However I pretty much exclusively wore my hair in a braid, bun or ponytail from the ages of 10 to 18. Therefore I have a strong desire to avoid these hairstyles the majority of the time. Which led me to pigtails. That was probably way more than you needed to know about my hairstyling decisions and if you read all that I commend you.
On to the pictures:

I have been trying to wear skirts more lately. I never really wore skirts before last summer. I always thought skirts looked strange on my 5’2″ frame. However lately I have been learning to love skirts and to manipulate them to look the way I like. Belts and safety pins are my friends! And yes this skirt is safety pinned like crazy to transform it from a skirt that rests on my hips to one that sits at my waist. I have never really tried tucking shirts into skirts before, but I tried it out in this outfit and really liked it. So I thought I would try it again!

I hope everyone had a spectacular Mother’s Day!
This is an outfit that I wore a couple of days ago. Maybe Tuesday or Wednesday. I really like the bright color of this shirt. Bright colors have this magically mood lifting effect. For that same reason I also love this skirt (I am not sure if you can tell in these pictures, but the skirt has a blue, green and red pattern). It is a little big on me, not so big that it will fall off but there are definitely some extra inches. I cannot really complain because I got it for free and I love the colorful pattern. These are some of the only outfit photos I got around to taking in the last week. Luckily I will be done with finals on Tuesday! Almost there!

I didn’t realize this was such a “Mom” themed outfit. I suppose it is appropriate for the day before Mother’s Day! I get a lot of clothes from my Mom that either she doesn’t wear anymore or items that she bought that don’t fit. It is really wonderful to have such a fashionable mother!
Okay so maybe I wasn’t shoeless the whole day. I don’t think walking around a city barefoot would be the best idea in the world. I felt like being random and taking pictures sans shoes though. I had a lot of fun taking these outfit photos. I am trying hard not to stand in the same position all the time.

P.S. I had my last class of the semester today. I obviously still have finals (3 exams and 2 papers to be exact), but still it feels nice to not have to go to class tomorrow!
Today was the first day of classes back from Spring Break. It decided to be disgustingly cold and rainy outside, a little reminder that Spring is not here yet. Other than that it was a good first day back. I am looking forward to finishing up these last few weeks.
Yesterday I wore one of my favorite floral skirts to try and remember what Spring is like. The pictures didn’t come out the greatest, and on top of that every time I tried to edit out the red-eye my whole head went grey???

In other news: I got contacts! Or rather I should say I got contacts again. I wore them all throughout high school, but I have been wearing glasses for the last 2 years or so. I am not sure if the contacts will be an everyday thing because I love my glasses, but I will say it was quite nice not having glasses getting all fogged up in the rain today!
Now I am off to finish up my cup of tea and hopefully get some homework done before it is time to make dinner.
